Chief Minister K Rosaiah, along with his wife Sivalakshmi, on Friday visited Tirumala to seek the blessings of Lord Venkateswara on the occasion of the ongoing Srivari Brahmotsavam.
According to sources, the Chief Minister has reached Tirumala in a special flight at 11.30 AM. He was straightaway motored to hill shrine where he performed special puja under the guidance of purohits and vedic pundits.
The Chief Minister also offered silk dress to Lord Venkateshwara at the behalf of state government.
Earlier, the TTD authorities gave a traditional welcome to Chief Minister K Rosaiah at the temple Mahadwaram.
After completion of rituals, Mr Rosaiah told media persons that hoped the Governor ESL Narasimhan would give clearance to Ordinance to regulate the Micro Finance Institutions in the state by Friday evening.
He said that the promulgation of the Ordinance would put an end to the abusive and violent methods of recovering loans given to the self help groups at exorbitant interest rates.
The police had made elaborate security arrangements to mark the Chief Minister’s visit to hill shrine.
