Bollywood Director Wants Dhanush In Ilaiyaraaja Biopic

Isaignani, Maestro Ilaiyaraaja needs no introduction. The music legend has been inspiring with his brilliance for more than five decades. He has worked on more than 1400 films in several languages. Now, it is being heard that a biopic is in motion about Ilaiyaraaja. 

According to reports, Bollywood filmmaker Balki who is known for making different films is planning biopic on Ilaiyaraaja and has planned to star Dhanush as the lead in the movie. Dhanush has become one of the most versatile actors in India, and his name is not new to the Tamil and Hindi film industries. The actor worked with director R Balki for the Bollywood film Shamitabh, and the movie also starred Amitabh Bachchan in the lead role.

In a recent media interaction while promoting his upcoming film 'Ghoomer', Balki reportedly said that it is his dream to make a biopic on Ilaiyaraaja starring Dhanush. He also added that he also looks similar to the composer and it would be the best gift for Dhanush for his 40th birthday if he got to play in the biopic movie of Ilaiyaraaja.

On the work front, Dhanush is gearing up for the release of his film 'Captain Miller, which is directed by Arun Matheswaran, and the film is set to release in theatres on December 15, 2023. He also has several films in pipeline, 'D 50', which is directed by him, 'D 51', directed by Sekhar Kammula and the Bollywood film 'Tere Ishq Mein', with Anand L Rai.
