Sequel To Kolamavu Kokila Is Announced

Nayanthara's Kolamavu Kokila which also marks the debut of Jailer director Nelson Dilip Kumar, turned out to be a cult film in Nayanthara's career. It received a huge reception and collection as well at the boxoffice. The film also released in Telugu as Ko Ko Kokila. 

After the success of Kolamavu Kokila, Nelson went on to direct Sivakarthikeyan's Doctor, which became a blockbuster and then directed Beast with Vijay. Now he is coming with Jailer with Superstar Rajinikanth.  Actor Yogi Babu confirms that Kolamavu Kokila part 2 coming soon in Jailer audio launch. 

In 2018, Nelson got the chance to direct Nayanthara in his debut film. Along with Nayanthara, Yogi Babu, Saranya Ponvannan played lead characters in the film. The plot of the film revolved around Nayanthara getting involved in drug trafficking for her ailing mother. Yogi Babu played the character who loves Nayanthara well. His song about Nayanthara was a rage back then.

Nelson with his debut film itself proved his mettle with Kolamavu Kokila where he mixed emotions with dark humour. Nayanthara's performance, Nelson's whacky taking, Anirudh 's terrific music together made it a cult film. Now, after five years a sequel to it will definitely excite the audience and trade alike.  Now that the shooting of Jailer has been completed, it remains to be seen whether Nelson will take up Kolamavu Kokila 2 as his next venture.
