Reason behind Khaithi 2 delay

Movie lovers have been waiting eagerly for Khaithi 2 sequel to the Karthi-Lokesh Kanagaraj's hit film Khaithi. According to the latest, Khaiti 2 is getting delayed even more. Inside talk is Khaithi 2 is getting delayed due to Karthi's busy schedules and other professional commitments.

Karthi has been promoting Mani Ratnam's magnum opus Ponniyin Selvan 2 which is bracing for a grand release on 28 April 2023. Right after that he will be joining the sets of his upcoming project Japan.

The film happens to be Karthi's milestone 25 film and it stars Anu Emmanuel as the female lead. The film is directed by Raju Murugan.

Lokesh Kangaraj also is currently busy with VIjay's LEO and he is set to direct Rajinikanth soon. All these are delaying Khaiti 2. Apart from it, only recently Khaithi is remade in Bollywood as Bholaa with Ajay Devgn in the lead. The source shares  "Karthi is tied up right now with three films. His shoots are starting with 'Japan' and all of the films have been committed to pre-pandemic. All these films featuring Karthi have come together at the same time. Only after the pending films are complete can Karthi think about doing the 'Kaithi' sequel."
