The New Industry Hit In Tamil Nadu

In movie terms, the term Industry Hit is considered when a film crosses the boxoffice collections of previous highest and emerges as No 1 grosser at the boxoffice. A couple of months back Kamal Haasan's Vikram became Industry Hit in Tamil Nadu. Now, within two months, Maniratnam's Epic 'Ponniyin Selvan' Part 1 has crossed Vikram and emerged as Industry Hit in Tamil Nadu.

PS1 was considered one of the great depictions about Tamil history and Maniratnam weaved his magic along with AR Rahman and his team. There were many doubts before it's release, that they are trying to make another Baahubali kind of film. But, Maniratnam made a tale purely about dynasty politics and emotions mounting the film on a huge scale. Every actor Vikram, Aishwarya Rai, Trisha, Karthi, Jayam Ravi, Prakash Raj, Sarath Kumar are perfectly casted and has given their best in their roles.

PS 1 also crosses 6 Million mark at the USA boxoffice and became the highest Tamil grosser of all time. Ponniyin Selvan Part 1 stands at No 2 as worldwide highest grossing Tamil film right after Rajinikanth - Shankar's 2.O. PS1 is jointly produced by Madras Talkies and Lyca Productions.
