Kamal created PS1 controversy

Maniratnam's Magnum Opus 'Ponniyin Selvan' based on the book with same title written by Kalki Krishna Murthy is creating records at Tamil Nadu box-office. Latest is PS1 landed in controversy regarding the depiction of characters.

Popular Director Vetrimaaran made comments that Raja Raja Chola is not actually a Hindu but the film portrayed him like one and also it shows a saffron flag raised on Thiruvalloor. He stated that these are not correct and the makers tried to showcase Cholas as Hindus.

Kamal Haasan also made comments similar to what Vetrimaaran complained. Kamal said there was no Hinduism at all during the time of Raja Raja Chola. But, BJP on ther hand said trashing these statements by saying Raja Raja Chola himself called himself as Shivapada Shekhar, a Hindu.
