Maniratnam finally realized his dream of turning Kalki Krishnamurthy's novel Ponniyin Selvan which was published in five parts into a film on the big screen. The first of the film's two parts, Ponniyin Selvan hit the screens last week. Maniratnam set on a mission to bring back the glory of Kollywood by breaking Baahubali records at the box office with Ponniyin Selvan. He got the entire support of the Kollywood media. Right from the announcement of the project, they projected that the film is a thousand times better than Baahubali.

After the film's release, even the neutral viewers from Tamil Nadu felt that the film lacked many goosebumps scenes, and heroic elevations and missed the extravagant visuals which Baahubali and RRR had. Ponniyin Selvan even missed the grand visuals of the Bollywood film Brahmastra. However, unlike the Tollywood critics and fraternity who ripped apart Baahubali and RRR during their releases in their reviews, the Kollywood fraternity and reviewers strongly stood behind Ponniyin Selvan.

They mocked the intelligence and IQ levels of those who criticized and made fun of other language people who criticized the film. They started promoting the film as though it became the biggest blockbuster in the Indian film industry and is on the verge of breaking many records across the world. Just like how Bollywood tried to paint Brahmastra as the blockbuster of 2022, Kollywood started promoting Ponniyin Selvan as the blockbuster of the Indian film industry. The so-called Tamil Tambis did not stop there, they started mocking other blockbusters and classics and made fun of the viewers who loved it. They went on to threaten other language people that if they do not make Ponniyin Selvan a big hit in their respective languages, they will turn their language films into flops.

Tamil Tambis started crossing all the limits and now started criticizing and making fun of Adi Purush's teaser. They are forgetting the fact that Adi Purush is directed by award-winning director Om Raut. The same Tamil tambis earlier heaped praises on Rajinikanth, Deepika Padukone's Kochadaiayan which used the same motion capture technology as it was featured their own hero and directed by Shankar. The reality should dawn on Tamil Tambis that none can paint blockbuster colors to Ponniyin Selvan and even God cannot propel Ponniyin Selvan to reach breakeven.
