The Producers Guild's defeating silence over Mega Star Chiranjeevi's Godfather and King Nagarjuna's The Ghost box office clash during Dasara is exposing the double standards. It is known that covid pandemic changed the dynamics of all professions and the film industry and those associated with it faced the maximum brunt of it.
Post the relaxation of covid restrictions and the opening of theatres, all the filmmakers competed to release their films as soon as possible at the box office to escape from the increased interest rates of the debts they have incurred during the film production. At that time, the so-called Producers Guild convened a meeting and ensured that the films will not compete against each other and eat into each other's share impacting everyone.
Everyone witnessed how the Producers Guild forced the makers of Nikhil's Karthikeya to make way to facilitate the solo release of Naga Chaitanya's Thank You and earlier for Ram's The Warriorr. Even when the Karthikeya makers finalized the releae in August, Producers Guild exerted pressure on Nikhil to postpone the film further which forced Nikhil to breakdown and reveal that a few biggies threatened him warning that they will ensure that his film Karthikeya 2 will not see the arc lights.
When the Producers Guild was so intent on averting the box office clash of other films with Karthikeya 2, why is the same Guild maintaining the defeating silence when the makers of Chiranjeevi's Godfather and Nagarjuna's The Ghost are hellbent and adamant on releasing their films on October 5. While Chiranjeevi is not in a mood to opt-out of the Dasara race, Nagarjuna is keen to have the film released on October 5 following his cult classic Shiva's release date. This surely exposed the double standards of the Producers Guild and proves once again that they can only pressurize, threaten and scare away only the makers of small films and not the top stars.
