Godfather eyeing this release date

All eyes are on Mega Star Chiranjeevi's Godfather. The film which is a remake of the Malayalam hit Lucifer is progressing at a brisk pace under the direction of Mohan Raja of Thani Oruvan fame. In the meantime, speculation is increasing over the film's release date. Inside talk is the makers are planning to wrap up the proceedings as quickly as possible and release the film on August 12, 2022, taking the Independence Day weekend advantage.

The film stars Nayanathara as the female lead and features Bollywood superstar Salman Khan in a powerful cameo. The makers included a flashback of Chiranjeevi making changes to the original script and also a dance number on Chiranjeevi and Salman Khan. Prabhudeva will be choreographing the song and sources say the makers are planning to rope in pop singer Britney Spears to sing the song.

Thaman is the music director for the film which stars Satyadev, Biju Menon, Anasuya, Gaddar, Murali Mohan, and Gangavva, Puri Jagannath in crucial roles.
