Oscars 2022: Disappointment for Jai Bhim

In a huge disappointment for movie lovers across the country, India's Oscar entry Jai Bhim missed the Oscar nominations. Expectations increased as Kollywood star Suriya's Jai Bhim directed by T.Gnanavel won the accolades of the critics and viewers alike. When New York Times's pop culture reporter Kyle Buchanan before the nominations put a casual question "Which Oscar nomination could provoke the biggest reaction from you tomorrow morning?", for which Rotten Tomatoes editor Jacqueline Coley replied' #JaiBhim for Best Picture. Trust me on this one.'

This excited all the movie lovers even as Jacqueline Coley clarified "Hey, there fellow #JaiBhim fans. I loved the movie. I have no idea if it will be nominated but I will cheer loudly if it does. Thanks for the love but I don't have any inside information. Good luck tomorrow.". But everyone got disappointed as Jai Bhim failed to make the final cut. However Indian documentary ‘Writing With Fire’, made it to the Best Documentary Feature category.

Fans of Suriya and Jai Bhim however said Oscars missed a best film and it is not Jai Bhim's loss but Oscars loss.
