Shockingly Low PRC Hike: Employees Start Agitation Again

It has been an unimaginable big blow for 40 lakh Employees and their family members. Never ever have they thought a government would hike extremely low salaries after 8 long years of old PRC implementation. Take a look at the following examples.

EXAMPLE 1: Subbarao is a senior superintendent having the service of 25 years from Amaravati secretariat. As of now, he has drawn Rs. 90000/- per month. After the PRC hike, his salary would be around Rs.97,000/-. 

EXAMPLE 2: Peter Paul is a junior office subordinate (attender) from Zilla Parishad, East Godavari District. As of now, he has drawn Rs.27,000/- salary per month. After the new PRC's implementation, he will get Rs.29,000/- per month. The PRC hike is just Rs.2000/-. 

WHY THIS EXTREMELY LOW HIKE OF SALARIES?: Firstly, shockingly low fitment of 23%. It was due to low fitment, the Employees lost two stage benefits in comparison with the Telangana Employees. According to the Employees, even if the government announced 19% fitment, the hike of the salaries remains the same. Hence, the government actually hiked just 19% fitment. Secondly, the HRA slabs will be restricted to just 8% and 16%. Previously, these slabs stood at 12%, 14.5%, 20% and 30%. 

NB: Even this low hike of salaries is due to the merger of the pending DAs which had to be received by the Employees long ago. If no merger of DAs, like reverse tendering, there was 'reversal' of salaries (decrease of salaries).

UNION LEADERS SHAMEFUL RESPONSE: Instead of admonishing the low fitment and decrease of the HRA, union leaders flattered Jagan Reddy shamelessly. 

GROUND LEVEL Employees ON BIGGEST AGITATION MODE: Fortunately, though the union leaders (only a few) did bhajana to Jagan Reddy on the PRC, lakhs of ground level Employees and other leaders of the unions have turned down the fitment proposed by Jagan Reddy. They have already kickstarted agitations against the government in this regard. The Employees and teacher unions such as UTF, STU, APTF and APSMA have condemned the fitment through official press notes. The MLC I Venkateswara Rao rebuked the low fitment. And today, huge protest is all set to be staged by the Employees and the teachers at the district headquarters of all the districts.
