Director Sukumar is on a high, scoring a hit with Stylish Star Allu Arjun's recent entertainer Pushpa-The Rise. The film is releasing in two parts and the second part Pushpa-The Rule will be releasing this year. Sukumar earlier captured the imagination of all scoring a blockbuster with Ram Charan's Rangasthalam.
Speaking to scribes, Sukumar revealed his bitter experience with a star director. It is known that Maniratnam has pan India recognition and everyone dreams of meeting him. Sukumar revealed that he became a director drawing inspiration from Maniratnam and after Arya 2, he happened to see Maniratnam in Mumbai.
He said he waited eagerly to meet Maniratnam but Maniratnam was engrossed in a conversation with actress Sobhana. He said as he couldn't control his excitement, he went to Maniratnam and called him 'Sir'. He said he got a shock when Maniratnam seriously shoved his hand signaling him to go away. He said at that time, he was deeply hurt but later realised that even he would have felt the same if someone disturbed him in the middle of a scene.
