Balam comes for Sankranti blast

Following the imposition of lockdown, closure of theatres or 50% occupancy in theatres in various theatres, increased speculation over the films that are lined up ahead of Sankranti and during Sankranti. Rumors spread over Thala Ajith's upcoming action entertainer Valimai which is slated for January 13, 2022 release as 50% occupancy is back across Tamil Nadu.

In the midst of all this, Boney Kapoor who is bankrolling the project confirmed the film's release on January 13,2022. Boney Kapoor posted "experience the POWER OF #Valimai, in Tamil, Telugu, and Hindi. Releasing Worldwide on 13th January 2022."

Valimai is releasing in Telugu as Balam and features Ajith romancing Huma Qureshi while Karthikeya Gummakonda of RX100 fame is playing the role of a powerful antagonist. H.Vinoth is the director for the film for which Yuvan Shankar Raja is the music director. Nirav Shah is the cinematographer and Vijay Velukutty is the editor for the film.
