Upcoming elections for Movie Artistes Association (MAA) are generating immense interest in film circles and movie lovers. It created a huge storm when Prakash Raj announced his candidature even before the announcement of the elections. With Manchu Vishnu, Hema, and Jeevitha entering the fray, the heat intensified.

in the midst of all this, rumors triggered that plans are on to arrive at a consensus by announcing Jayasudha's candidature and electing her unanimously, and elect a woman as MAA president for the first time. In between reports also came that the current Naresh's panel is planning to defer the elections for six years.
