The Bombay High Court has shocked former Telugu heroine Navneet Kaur Rana by cancelling her SC certificate. In 2019 general elections, Navneet turned politician and contested as an independent candidate from Amaravati Lok Sabha constituency.
Navneet won the elections and she is one of the eight female MPs from Maharashtra. However, based on her caste, a Shiv Sena leader approached the Bombay High Court and later Navneet’s election affidavit was scrutinized.
In a sensational verdict the Bombay High Court has cancelled Navneet’s SC certificate and added that it was obtained using fabricated documents. The Court asked Navneet to submit the dubious documents to concerned authorities within six weeks and penalised her by Rs 2 Lakh.
This is a major setback for Navneet who in no time earned a good reputation in Lok Sabha. Her first reaction is yet to come after the verdict.
