Fans and movie lovers raved with the decision of Tamil Nadu government permitting 100% occupancy in film theaters for this Sankranthi season. Ilaya Thalapathy Vijay's Master, which is carrying humongous buzz, was thought to be benefited with the TN government's decision.

Ignited by TN government's decision, Telugu film producers council urged the Telangana and AP state governments to raise theatres occupancy from 50% to 100%.

However, pouring cold water on the eagerness and warmth of Vijay's fans, the union home ministry became serious on the TN government's decision and ordered only 50% occupancy in theaters.

Though the union government cited the reason that they allowed only 50% owing to prevailing COVID circumstances, it's alleged that the cold war that has been running between hero Vijay and the BJP, is the exact reason for the union government's decision.

Whatsoever, the union government's decision has irked millions of Vijay's fans.

Vijay's Master is slated for release on 13 January. Directed by Lokesh Kanagaraj the film features Malavika Mohanan, Vijay Sethupathy and Gowri Kishan in other prominent roles.
