2020 started off on a sensational note for Tollywood with the success of Sarileru Neekevvaru and Ala Vaikunthapurramloo. Producers and distributors reaped in huge profits and they dreamed of same in the coming days. Though few flops bothered, Bheeshma's success delighted all. However, everything changed due to corona and the lockdown.

Film releases stopped, shootings came to a standstill with theatres closed. This resulted in a huge crisis in the industry. Exhibitor sector broke down completely. It takes long time to come back to track. Thoth producers are trying to release their films, it is bit clear whether they get exhibitors support all the time.

So the entire risk now lies with the producers. There are more than 100 films in the sets and waiting for release. Many feel 2021 may also be a tough year for them. Only the success of corona vaccine may instill confidence in everyone.
