Tollywood: 1 Step Forward 2 Steps Backward

The film industry is completely in tatters and is getting hit in a powerful manner by Coronavirus and the subsequent lockdown. Almost all the stars, directors, producers, and writers are at their wit's end as to how to come out of it.

Though they got permission for shootings, with Big B Amitabh Bachchan himself getting Corona shock, no one is willing to take any risk. Producers are getting tempting offers from OTTs for their films. However, except for a few, no one is getting tempted as they are not getting fancy sums compared to Bollywood filmmakers.

Stars and filmmakers on the positive side are lining up new projects and few of them are planning to come with their own OTTs. Ram Gopal Varma showed the way for others to follow. Many are getting fascinated by the web series and all directors and producers are planning web series.

However, while this is one step forward, the industry is going two steps backward as they are scared of starting shootings and also worried on how to shoot intimate scenes. Only time will tell where Tollywood is heading with one step forward and two steps backward.
