Why Such Obsession With Sequels And Prequels?

Tollywood stars and filmmakers are lining up sequels and prequels. This is making many wonder why they are so much obsessed with sequels and prequels. Till now Tollywood witnessed many sequels and prequels but except for a few all turned out to be disasters. Still, makers are planning sequels and prequels and stars are also very excited.

Efforts are on to come up with a sequel for Balakrishna's hit film Aditya 369. Rumours are coming that the sequel would be titled as Aditya 999. Singeetham Srinivas Rao would direct the film and Balakrishna said that it is his dream.

Anil Ravipudi who scored a hit with F2 is getting ready for F3. Though people are speculating the film to be the sequel, Anil Ravipudi says it is not a sequel though the same characters will appear. He said it will be novel why Venkatesh and Varun Tej will get frustrated after marriage.

Kartikeya sequel Karthikeya 2 is in making stages. Nikhil who was seen as the medical student in Karthikeya would be seen as a doctor in the film under the direction of Chandu Mondeti. Vishwak Sen's HIT thriller is getting a sequel HIT 2.

Similarly talks are on for Vihnu's hit film Dhee's sequel. The film's sequel will have Dhee Ante Dhee caption. Many more are on the anvil like Puri Jagannadh is planning Double Dimakh, sequel for Ismart Shankar and sequel for award winning film Awe is also on.

Apart from sequels, even a prequel is underway. Nagarjuna's Soggade Chinni Nayana will have a prequel named Bangarraju.
