Telugu Stars Unhappy Over OTT?

The film industry is suffering huge losses due to the lockdown following the corona pandemic. All the shootings came to a standstill and even the films ready for release got stalled. When the respective state governments and the Union Government made it clear that the corona effect will be here for one year, one cannot expect the opening of theatres in the near future. Already Telangana government made it clear that there is no change of theatres opening and shootings permitted for the next three months.

This is giving scares to producers. Already those who got finances for high-interest rates are experiencing sleepless nights. They are not looking for alternatives like OTT-Digital platforms. They are selling the rights to popular OTT platforms Amazon, Netflix, etc. Tamil hero Suriya, Bollywood star Amitabh Bachchan, Ayushman Khurana are releasing their films on OTT platforms.

But Tollywood stars are not showing interest to the producers to release their films on OTT. But Telugu stars too should finally change their outlook according to the situation.

Bollywood films like Amitabh Bachchan's Gulabo Sitabo, Akshay Kumar's Lakshmi Bomb, Vidya Balan's Shakuntala Devi, and many more are slated for OTT release. But top stars are worried about their films getting OTT release. They are worried that OTT will not give the same realistic feel and kick which theatres will give to viewers. They are having doubts about whether they get the same fan following for their performances on OTT which they get the same in theatres.

However, analysts say stars should realize one thing. There is no situation in the future where people think viewing films in theatre is ultimate. So if the content is strong they do not care whether they are watching in theatre, on small screen, or on OTT. They praise good performances and bash bad performances as usual.
