Why Did Brahmanandam Disappear?

The mere mention of Bhramanandam used to bring smiles on the faces of all sections of people. There used to be a time when even top stars, filmmakers used to ensure the dates of Brahmanandam before finalishing other cast and crew and their film schedules. But of late Brahmanandam is not seen on silver screen.

Seems trend changed completely and so senior comedians like Brahmanandam is not getting any offers. Puri Jagannadh once revealed that he purposefully included Brahmanandam's comedy track as a beggar in Mahesh Babu's hit film Pokiri. Even if that track was not there, it wouldn't have affected the film's performance but Puri included Bhramanandam's comedy to make viewers laugh.

The tastes of the viewers and that of the new directors changed completely. There is no comedy track in Mahesh Babu's Bharat Ane Nenu. The film, a serious political drama, turned out to be a hit. Though Koratala Siva could have included a comedy track, he did not try to do it as he felt it would affect the film's tempo.

Of late all filmmakers are giving importance to the story. So Brahmanandam and others are not getting offers. To the top of it, newcomers like Jabardasth comedians are gaining more popularity and so directors are giving offers to them. There was time when Bramanandam used to receive 5 lakhs per day. But Brahmi is not getting offers even after he slashed his remuneration.
