It is a known fact that Theatres across the country were closed even before the lockdown was announced by the Union Government and the respective state governments. It is not clear when the lockdown would be lifted. No one is however expecting permission to open Theatres after the lockdown is lifted. Since there is possibility of people gathering once the Theatres are opened, governments will consider various strategies before granting the permission.
Now all eyes are on who will bite the first bullet after the Theatres are opened. Who will take the risk and announce the release of their films. Trade analysts are of the opinion that initially releasing the films involve lot of risk as people will be skeptical in coming out and watch the films in Theatres.
It is ok if people come to Theatres and watch the films buying tickets as usual but otherwise it will be trouble if the occupancy is less. Some are suggesting that small films and dubbing films should be allowed for release and based on the response others can plan their films release dates. Trade experts say by August a clarity will come regarding opening of Theatres.
