In what could be said a huge shocker, government Teachers were deputed to 'Bandobasth' duty at liquor queues in the city of Vizag. According to reports, a total of 600 Teachers had been endorsed to police department by the Vizag district's District Education Officer sometime ago to discharge various duties to prevent coronavirus pandemic in the city of Vizag.
Since liquor shops were opened on 5th of April, the police officials appointed some Teachers at liquor shops to control the crowd. Soon the news went viral and everyone was shocked hearing the news.
On the other hand, TDP's head Chandrababu Naidu and Janasena chief Power Star Pawan Kalyan took a dig at the ruling YSRCP for allotting such anti-morale duties to the Teachers. "It's a grief-stricken situation Teachers, who had to get themselves confined the respectable teaching profession, were endorsed for duties at liquor shops. Instead, the Teachers should have been allocated another task like supervising the distribution of essential commodities," Pawan Kalyan's press note reads.
"Don’t bring down the morale of ‘Teachers’. I wonder! what if, Late Sri Sarvepalli Radhakrishnan ( Great Guru & Former President of India) would have felt,after reading this news, that AP Govt is forcing ‘Teachers to guard liquor shops’ instead of teaching, ” Pawan Kalyan tweeted.
Having felt the heat of opposition leaders and the people, the state government directed the DEO, to relieve the Teachers from their duties liquor shops with immediate effect.
