Corona Effect: Biopic Incurring Huge Losses

Bollywood Queen Kangana Ranaut is all set to show her power as the former CM of Tamil Nadu, Jayalalithaa in her biopic titled Thalaivi. The film directed by AL Vijay is in full swing and is generating tremendous interest among movie lovers.

Due to coronavirus and the subsequent lockdown, Thalaivi makers are incurring huge losses. The makers erected extravagant sets in a popular studio in Hyderabad and Chennai. They planned to shoot in the Hyderabad set in March and Chennai set in April. But due to lockdown, they couldn't complete the shoot. The makers are hopeful that they could wrap Hyderabad's schedule if they get ten days' time with the removal of lockdown. The makers are yet to complete 40% of the shooting.

They have already paid money for the Hyderabad set to the Studio management. If the makers cannot shoot in these sets, they would incur a whopping Rs 5crs loss.

Bollywood actor Ajay Devgn's Maidaan makers are also facing the same problem. They erected a stadium set but they are unable to start the shooting. They are worried that they wouldn't be able to shoot for their Football based sports drama if the rainy season starts.
