RRR Out, Vakeel Saab In: What About Acharya?

Sankranthi is the biggest season for movie releases in Telugu states. Given watching films with all the family members is one of the prime priorities during the biggest festivals, Tollywood will witness multiple releases during the season. Unlike regular times, good number of films hit the screens every year during Sankranthi.

For 2021, SS Rajamouli’s RRR starring Young Tiger NTR and Mega Power Star Ram Charan 2was the only film planned for release during the festival. But, owing to lockdown, all the schedules of RRR got disrupted and the film most probably will not see theaters for Sankranthi. The most awaited multi-starrer is likely to release in summer.

As per our reliable sources, makers of power star Pawan Kalyan’s ongoing film Vakeel Saab are now planning to release the film for Sankranthi. The film was initially planned for release in May and the makers then thought of releasing it in August o for Dussehra. Now, they seem to have pushed the film to Sankranthi.

Producer Dl Raju who is very calculated has come up with the idea of releasing Vakeel Saab for Sankranthi to cash in the festival season. Moreover, he opines people may not thong to theaters for few more months until there will be decline in corona cases. So, considering all the equations, the ace producer has decided to release the Sriram Venu directorial venture during the festival.

Now, the question is when megastar Chiranjeevi will release his film Acharya. The film directed by Koratala Siva completed only 40 % of the shoot. Although they locked Kajal Aggarwal to play the female lead, the confusion over actor to play extended cameo still continues.

Certainly, Ram Charan who needs to complete RRR first may not do Acharya. It is uncertain whether superstar Mahesh Babu will give his nod to be part of the project. Already, stylish star Allu Arjun through his PRO team announced he won’t be part of the film. So, finalizing actor for the special role is biggest task for the makers at the moment.

There were reports that, Acharya that was planned for release either in August or for Dussehra would be shifted to Sankranthi. However, one among Acharya and Vakeel Saab would shift to other dates as mega heroes doesn’t like their films clashing at box office.

It has to be seen who among Chiru and Pawan compromise to avoid mega clash.
