It is a known news that AP government decided to impose a complete ban on liquor gradually. As an initiative, AP government reduced number of liquor shops considerably and and hiked the prices of liquor abnormally. Above all, all brands of consumers choice are not available in liquor shops at the moment.
However, AP government's decision has turned a bless in disguise for opposition party, the TDP. The TDP is exhibiting the sympathy on liquor consumers. The other day, former TDP minister Devineni Uma delivered a precious message holding liquor bottles along with him. Though the former minister tickled the funny bones of viewers, the message seems to have been rightly conveyed to liquor consumers.
But then, why TDP chief Chandrababu Naidu is supporting liquor consumers to that extent? There is an interesting flashback story behind it. Late NTR imposed a liquor ban after assuming power in 1994. However, the decision of NTR didn't go well with alcoholics well, then. Moreover, adulterated liquor was overflowed which resulted in deaths of many. In the meanwhile, CBN was buzzed to have backstabbed his mamagaru and assumed power in 1995. Strangely, there was no sympathy on NTR among people then. Subsequently, CBN lifted liquor ban and won the general elections, 1999 as a big number of liquor lovers cast their votes to CBN's TDP. Despite Lakshmi Parvathy promoted her NTR TDP alleging that it was CBN who had back-stabbed NTR and became the reason for the latter's demise, people didn't let NTR TDP win a single MLA seat.
Maybe, aforementioned episode prompted CBN speaking in favour of liquor lovers. If CBN's assumption is proved right, YS Jagn would also face a debacle due to liquor ban.
