Tamil director Shankar was hailed as best director in south, until Rajamouli made Magadheera. Post the Ram Charan starrer film turned out to be an industry and Rajamouli’s next films turned out to be a bigger hit the debate started on who’s the best director in south among Shankar and Rajamouli.
Although Rajamouli is having upper hand for past few years with his all films showing their power at box office and Shankar failing to impress, the duo never released their films during same season. Finally, the big clash of Rajamouli Vs Shankar is happening for the next sankranthi in 2021.
As is known, Rajamouli’s mega budget entertainer Rrr starring NTR and Ram Charan will be hitting the screens on January 8th. Now, it is coming out that, Shankar’s Indian 2, sequel to his blockbuster film Indian (Bharateeyudu in Telugu) starring Kamal Haasan, will be gracing the theaters on January 14th for Sankranthi.
This means, Rajamouli and Shankar films will be clashing at box office in a gap of six days. In Telugu, almost no other film will be releasing for the Sankranthi. With two giant projects coming during the festival season, apparently no other Tamil film will release during the course.
Will Rajamouli have upper hand over Shankar in first direct clash?
