As we all know, Megastar Chiranjeevi's Sye Raa Narasimhareddy stood as a huge blockbuster in Telugu states and is all set to attain the status of another industry hit (non BB) of Tollywood in its life time run. It is also a known news that yet another pan Indian film Saaho became a huge debacle with Rs.47 crores losses incurred in Telugu states alone. But then, why this strange discrimination of box office statuses of two Telugu pan Indian films?
One thing is clear. Saaho's disaster result in Telugu states is a huge setback for Prabhas's career. Saaho might be a hit in Hindi version. But then, Prabhas is not a regular to Bollywood. A Telugu film must run quite well in Telugu states so that its success impact yields better results for next offing of any hero. Following is an analysis on Sye Raa's blockbuster and Saaho's debacle in Telugu states.
* Sye Raa hasn't missed local flavour in any frame. In fact, it's the story of the first freedom fighter who hailed in Telugu land. On the contrary, Saaho, missed Telugu nativity miserably. Most of its cast and crew hailed from Bollywood.
* Saaho's buyers thought there was Prabhas's factor behind the runaway successes of Baahubali series films ignoring Rajamouli's factor. Had Saaho been sold out with normal prices, the film could have been bailed out of its huge losses.
* Chiranjeevi's everlasting image brought life to Sye Raa and made the film spin money at the box office.
BOTTOM-LINE: Prabhas is currently on the edge of a knife. If he concentrates on pan Indian films, he will lose ground in Telugu states. This is high time Prabhas to take sensible decisions on subjects of his films.
