Exclusive: Prabhas Jaan Shelved!

Though critics slammed Young Rebel Star Prabhas’s Saaho, the film is on record breaking spree at the box office. When many expected the film to crash down completely from day two itself, especially the Hindi version owing to the unanimous negative talk the film received, Saaho is surprisingly performing well in North India.

But, the fact is, the film’s dream run is expected to end very soon. Actually, many factors like Baahubali success, not much competition in all the languages in India, Prabhas pan India image, huge promotions, mass and fans pleasing high voltage action scenes in promos favored the film to rake big numbers in its first weekend. Thankfully, today is a holiday (Ganesh Chaturthi). So, it will be testing time for Saaho from tomorrow.

Now, as per a grapevine, Prabhas’s another film tentatively titled Jaan has been shelved. The film directed by Radha Krshna Kumar of Jil fame under UV Creations Banner was launched long ago and the makers canned first schedule in foreign locations. Pooja Hegde is the leading lady.

However, after canning the first schedule, they put the project on hold as to wrap up Saaho within the deadline and then promote the film vigorously. The other reason for putting the project billed to be a spy thriller on hold was this too requires huge budget close to 150 crore. So, the producers thought of resuming the shoot, only if Saaho performs well at the box office.

With Saaho getting lukewarm response from major sections, the producers are said to have decided to shelve Jaan, as they don’t want to take another risk at this point of time. They are well aware of the fact that, there will be a strong negative impact of Saaho on Jaan which may not get off to flying start.

We need to wait and see what the makers will say about this!
