Despite receiving severe criticism, Shahid Kapoor and Kiara Advani starrer Kabir Singh is continuing to do well at box office. The film has already crossed 200 crore mark and director Sandeep Reddy Vanga believes it will easily cross 300 crore mark.

Apparently, the criticism on his film irked Sandeep Reddy who lashed out at critics. "When I started this film, I knew it would be a big success at the box office, but I never thought that the rage would be repeated, and it has multiplied four times now," he said.

About the accusations of toxic masculinity and violent treatment of women in the film, Vanga said, "When you are deeply in love and deeply connected to a woman, if you don’t have the liberty of slapping each other, then I don’t see anything there."

Lashing out at critics who slammed his film, Reddy said, “Probably they never experienced love in the right way. They were only on the feminist side, so they didn’t speak about anything else.”

About a scene in the film where protagonist physically assaults his girlfriend Preeti, Vanga said, "She slapped him without a reason; at least Kabir had a reason to slap her. If you can’t slap, if you can’t touch your woman wherever you want, if you can’t kiss, I don’t see emotion there."

Kabir Singh, as we all know, is an official remake of the director’s own film Arjun Reddy which starred Vijay Devarakonda and Shalini Pandey in lead roles.
