Super Star Mahesh Babu’s 25th film Maharshi was released in 260 centres across the USA in a bid to cash in on the massive hype surrounding it. They also held 2,500 premiere shows of the movie, a day before it hit screens in India. The film opened to good response in the preview shows, but its collection was not up to the expected mark. It witnessed a steep decline on the first day and the same trend continued throughout the week.
Maharshi collected $29,040 on its seventh day, taking its first week total in USA to $1,557,172[Rs.10.90Cr]. The film settles at 15th slot in the list of highest 1st week grossers in USA. Baahubali 2 and Baahubali holds first two spots, while Mahesh Babu’s previous film Bharat Ane Nenu is the third highest grosser. Here is the list:
