Can Old Titles, New Story Present Hits?

It has become a trend among Tollywood filmmakers to name their films after the yesteryear blockbusters. Except for title, new films do not have any semblance to story of old films. But the question is can evergreen films hit titles to the new films turn them into hits.

Directors have been under the impression that the positive vibrations of the evergreen hits will help them score hits at the box office. Mahesh Babu is coming to entertain as Maharshi. Earlier in the 89s Vamsi came with Maharshi but the film failed at the box office.

Aadi Sai Kumar's next is titled as Jodi. In the 90s Tamil actor Prashant romanced Simran in a hit film called Jodi. Sundeep Kishan's next is named as Tenali Ramakrsihna BABL. Movie lovers cannot forget the yesteryear historical entertainer Tenali Rama Krishna starring NTR and ANR and how it turned out to be a hit.

Of late, NTR and Balakrishna's hit films titles are used by upcoming comedians. Shakalaka Shankar's films are titled after NTR's mass hits Driver Ramudu, KD No 1. Even Saptagiri too named his film after NTR's Gajadonga. Allari Naresh's next is named as Bangaru Bullodu.

There is craze for Mega Star Chiranjeevi's hit films titles. Nani is coming to entertain movie lovers turning Gang Leader. Kollywood hero Karthi's next is titled as Khaidi. Bellamkonda Srinivas' next is titled as Rakshasudu. Shakalaka Shankar's next too is titled as Khaidi. Vijay Antony's Tamil film is tiled as Jwala.

What the makers are forgetting is it is the strong story that helps in the success of the film and not the hit films titles.
