Before the release of Harish Shankar directed Gabbar Singh, Power Star Pawan Kalyan was reeling under string of flops and his fans were waiting keenly for one good entertainer. Although Gabbar Singh was an official remake of Hindi hit Dabangg, Harish along with his writing team made it look like a fresh one.

The entertainment he added with his witty writing, not just fans, normal audience thronged to theaters to watch it on repeated times. Had Harish Shankar made Gabbar Singh as frame to frame remake it would have become a debacle at box office, like few of remade films of Pawan Kalyan like Annavaram, Teenmaar, Gopala Gopala and Katamarayudu.

Now, Harish Shankar is coming up with another remake. He this time is directing another mega hero Varun Tej in a film titled Valmiki which is a remake of Tamil sleeper hit Jigarthanda. While Pawan behaved like a villain in Gabbar Singh at times, Varun will be playing a full length negative role in Valmiki.

Like in Gabbar Singh, Valmiki will also be full on entertainment. Harish and team is making massive changes to script and are adding adequate comedy. Protagonist Sree Vishnu’s character has been trimmed to elevate Varun Tej’s character.

“The way Harish Shankar is designing Varun Tej’s character; he will reach next level of stardom with Valmiki. Even in serious situations, he will bring laughs with his mannerisms and humorous acts. This is surely going to be a game changer for Varun Tej,” informs an inner source.

Harish Shankar is presently busy with pre-production works and regular shoot begins from April. Plans are to release the film later this year.
