Multi-starrers are tough to deal with. Veteran filmmakers successfully made many multi starrer films with star heroes like NTR, ANR, Krishna, Krishnam Raju, Chiranjeevi, Balakrishna, Nagarjuna, Venkatesh etc and most of the films satisfied egoes of all the heroes and their fans.
However, none of present day filmmakers are keen to lay hand on multi-starrers because risk factor has been heightened. Neither star heroes nor their fans are agreeing to give full hand freedom to directors. Recently released Devadas is best example for the case study.
Directed by Sriram Aditya, the film couldn’t satisfy egoes of both Nagarjuna and Nani, the end result was completely disappointing. While Nagarjuna fans were upset with the way their favorite hero was presented, Nani fans too were dissatisfied for removing few key scenes of the Natural Star.
Apparently, Devadas result is giving jitters to Rajamouli who started feeling the heat, before kicking off his multi starrer film. With Devadas turning out to be a flop, Rajamouli turned extra cautious on most awaited multi-starrer with NTR and Ram Charan.
Rajamouli is overseeing the script multiple times so as not to disappoint any of the heroes or their fans. Rajamouli has the experience of dealing a multi starrer with Baahubali. But, Rana was not that big hero compared to the craze and fan following of Prabhas.
But, here for RRR, he will be dealing two super stars NTR and Ram Charan who are biggest stars of Tollywood right now. Rajamouli is said to be taking additional care on screenplay to balance the two characters. The film should have equal number of elevation scenes for NTR as well as Charan to please the fans.
So, RRR is biggest challenge so far for Rajamouli who is currently busy fine-tuning the script. While the film will be launched in November this year, regular shoot will commence only by early next year.
