Vijay Deverakonda is willing to capture Tamil market with his next movie NOTA which is being made as Telugu-Tamil bilingual. The film directed by Anand Shankar has created interest ever since its trailer was released.
However, analysts predict that, NOTA may not become a huge hit like VD Konda’s previous film Geetha Govindam, because films with political setup will appeal to only limited section of audience.
On the other hand, Anand Shankar reportedly made NOTA as a Tamil drama film. Apparently, Vijay Deverakonda who got recognition in Tamil with his films Arjun Reddy and Geetha Govindam is hoping to make big in Tamil with NOTA which is the reason why he obliged to a film that will have Tamil flavor throughout.
Superstar Mahesh Babu did a great mistake by accepting to do a bilingual Spyder when his career was in full swing. The film ended as a disaster in Tollywood, because the subject didn’t appeal to Telugus. Excess of Tamil flavor was said to be main reason for the debacle. And the film was a flop in Tamil as well, since Tamil audience will never encourage non-local artists, especially Telugus.
Likewise, when Vijay Deverakonda is in best form, he is willing to venture into Kollywood to expand his market. But, it is too early and the subject he picked is not a safe bet in Telugu as well as Tamil.
Producers who spent good budget on NOTA are quoting fancy prices for theatrical rights. If the rights will remain unsold for few more days, it will bring negative buzz on the film.
