Till sometime back, kissing used to be a taboo in Tollywood. However in the recent past kisses are raining on silver screen much to the pleasant surprise of the movie lovers. Viewers are treated with more and more intimate scenes and lip-locks.
Films like Arjun Reddy, RX100 created sensation and others like Paper Boy, Goodachari followed the suit. Now 24 kisses, Ratham etc are waiting in the wings to wow all with the kisses.
Filmmakers and actors are questioning if the scene demands why should one shy away from kissing their on screen partner. Ayodhya Kumar of 24 Kisses says while kissing and intimate scenes are common in Bollywood; Tollywood has become more receptive of late.
Ajay Bhupati of RX 100 and Ayodhya Kumar of 24 Kisses assert why Censor Board follows two set of rules for Bollywood and regional languages. Ajay said he tried for U/A certificate for his film, but Censor Board gave only A certificate, saying it is possible only if he does away with the kissing scenes.
Ayodhya Kumar says while regional films are awarded A certificate for just one kissing scene, Hindi films are getting U/A certificates.
