Tamil Superstar Rajinikanth's upcoming film Kaala theatrical trailer was released this evening. As expected, the film has many resemblances with that of Kabali. If the backdrop for Kabali is set as Malaysia, slum area Dharavi from Mumbai was chosen for the backdrop of Kaala.

It's a single liner story which was heavily inspired by Mario Puzo's Godfather. Rajini plays leader of masses who lose their land to a land grabber Nana Patekar. Interim, there is a thin thread of romance between Rajini and heroines Eeswari Rao and Huma Qureshi.

Rajini's getup is similar to Kabali while music by Santhosh Narayanan is mediocre. All in all, the story and backdrop appeared to be quite monotonous. Rajini's dialogues are loud and not catchy. His mannerisms and style too turned a routine practice. Except "Nela meeku adhikaaram, nela maaku jeevitham', dialogue rest appeared to be damp squib. The makers need to come up with better promotional stuff to generate hype on the projecct.

Pa Ranjith has directed the movie. Dhanush bankrolled it. June 7 is the scheduled date of release.
