Generally Heroines have lot of freedom. Unlike stars who have to take into consideration the strong story, viewers pulse, fans satisfaction, scoring hits, get record collections,Heroines can easily star in three to four films in a year.
Even if they taste two reverses they easily get offers after getting one hit. So Heroines neednot worry about story, character etc and they can give green signal taking into consideration star hero, director, remuneration or banner.Since the span of the heroine is very short, they try to make the most of it by doing as many films as possible.
However few stunning beauties are surprising all by becoming choosy and waiting for powerful stories and performance oriented roles. Movie lovers and buyers too now are of the opinion that if they star in a film,it will be something special.
Top Heroines like Kajal,Tamanna, Anushka and Samantha are now turning choosy even though they are getting flooded with offers. They are taking their own time before signing projects rather than be in a undue hurry. Except Samantha all of them completed 10 years in the industry and all of them are waiting to do roles that respect their experience.
They are able to take these decisions as span of the heroine is gradually increasing from the previous 6-7 years. Gone are the days when Heroines used to disappear after 7 years. Now many stars are doing special songs.Anushka changed her style after Arundhati. She is signing films taking own time after Baahubali.
Even new beauties like Lavanya Tripathi though did only ten films is keen to do only strong characters. She says she will be selective and do only different roles. Nivetha Thomas did only three films and scored hits like Gentleman and Ninnu Kori. She along with Keerthy Suresh who scored a hit with Nenu Sailaja is doing only Pawan Kalyan's Agnatavasi and Mahanati,a biopic on Savitri. Rakul Preet Singh too is showing similar intent.
Industry sources are happy with the change in attitude among Heroines. They say this will force directors and writers to come with powerful roles for Heroines rather than show them as glamour dolls.
