Earlier this year, Sushma Swaraj’s Ministry of External Affairs rescued Indian national Uzma Ahmed from a forced marriage to Pakistani national Tahir Ali. Minister brought her back to India and was a happy ending.
That thrilling episode was nothing less than a feature film with thrilling screenplay. Shivam Nair who made directional debut with Naam Shabana thought the same and is planning to make a film on this story. Latest buzz is that talented actress Tabu is going to play the role of Sushma Swaraj while Parineeti Chopra will be Uzma.
Even though the makers have announced Tabu’s name officially, the actress claims that they have not approached her. ‘I have no idea why filmmakers who have not approached me give out false news of me being approached for their movies when I have not even been contacted or made aware of a certain project. This has also happened in the past. In fact, in some cases, some really big and established production houses have taken the liberty of using my name for a project without as much as my consent,’ a statement from Tabu said.
Shivam Nair and Pink writer Ritesh Shah are jointly working on the script. Ritesh Shah previously wrote the script for realistic drama Airlift starring Akshay Kumar.
