Pellichoopulu Awards, Industry Ignored

Awards are forever morale boosters and motivational strengths for film makers to promise more and more quality entertainment for cinema loving audience. When such awards go without any proper recognition in front of our eyes, it becomes painful for winners. 

Pellichoopulu team is facing a similar humiliation when entire Telugu film industry went blind to felicitate or at least appreciate director Tharun Bhascker, producer Raj Kandukuri and the team behind. 

Pellichoopulu was released as a very small film with an experimental budget from a passionate team of fresh artists and technicians. Having passed many hurdles in release journey, the film evolved as huge blockbuster inspiring many film aspirants to think new. 

National Awards jury rightly identified Pellichoopulu as path breaking film by awarding it as Best Telugu Film and Tharun Bhascker as Best Dialogue Writer. Regrettably, a film which endeared National jury comfortably hasn’t won its share of respect and reverence from Telugu fraternity.                

The other day, Mega family (Allu Academy of Arts) acknowledged Shatamanam Bhavati team of producer Dil Raju, hero Sharwanand, director Satish Vegesna by arranging an appreciatory meet but neglected the similar achievement of Pellichoopulu.

Dil Raju, Sharwanand are big names in Tollywood and there’s nothing much left before them to prove. Even then Chiranjeevi, Allu Aravind, Allu Arjun, Kalyanram, Nani, Allu Sirish have set a good example for industry by felicitating Shatamanam Bhavati. But the event would have been far more special and truthful if Pellichoopulu team was also sent an invitation.

Whatsoever, industry people are of a common opinion that National Awards for Pellichoopulu aren’t highlighted with the same vigor as that of Shatamanam. Obvious reason is, neither Raj Kandukuri nor Tharun Bhascker are as big as Dil Raju and Sharwanand. Double standards...
