Congress to Get Power in Three States?
The Congress Party appears to have been back! Going by the current trends, the Congress party is likely to gain power in Punjab, Goa and Manipur while the BJP snatches the victory in Uttar Pradesh and Uttarakhand.
The Congress party has emerged as the single largest party in Punjab with a clear lead in 60 seats which is followed by SAD with 29 seats. AAP has got the lead in 24 constituencies here.
In Manipur, the Congress Party is leading in 17 constituencies while the BJP got the lead in 10 constituencies. In Goa also, the Congress leads with 10 seats. BJP got the lead in 4 seats.
Congress lost the poll battle in Uttarakhand due to anti incumbency factor. In UP, the Congress party won 28 seats in 2012 polls and it would satisfy with 15 seats in 2017's polls. The party had not been in power for the past 27 years in UP.
