Review 2016: Hits of Tollywood

Tollywood witnessed around 20 successful films in 2016 which includes blockbusters, super hits, hits, above averages and averages. Following is the month wise hit list of straight Telugu films.

JANUARY: This year started with the first hit 'Nenu Sailaja'. 'Soggade Chinni Nayana' stood as the blockbuster among Sankranthi films while 'Express Raja' got super hit result. 'Naannaku Prematho' attained above average status.

FEBRUARY: 'Kshanam' got super hit result in the month while 'Krishnagadi Veera Prema Gadha' stood as an average grosser at the box office.

MARCH: 'Oopiri' got hit status in Overseas while it was a failure in domestic market.

APRIL: 'Sarrainodu' stood as the biggest grosser of the year with Rs.76 crores share. 'Eedo Rakam Aado Rakam' got super hit status.

MAY: Supreme stood as the super hit at the box office.

JUNE: 'A..Aa' scored a super hit with around Rs.50 crores shares. 'Gentleman' got above average result.

JULY: Having been made with a shoestring budget 'Pellichoopulu' got blockbuster result.

AUGUST: 'Srirasthu Shubhamasthu' got hit result while 'Babu Bangaram' became an average grosser.

SEPTEMBER: 'Janatha Garage' stood as one of the biggest blockbusters of the year.

OCTOBER: 'Premam' scored a decent hit at the box office.

NOVEMBER: 'Ekkadiki Pothavu Chinnavada' got super hit result.

DECEMBER: 'Dhruva' is collecting close to Rs.60 crores and stood as a super hit.

DUBBING FILMS: 'Bichchagadu' turned out to be the surprising blockbuster of this year while Suriya's '24' got above average status.
