Nag Says Shiva Trendsetter! Conditions Apply?

King Nagarjuna was over the moon when he was delivering speech at RGV's 'Vangaveeti' special event held at JRC Convention in Hyderabad. The senior star said his 'Shiva' was a trendsetter then and 'Baahubali' occupied its position now. 

An interesting debate was held among the movie patrons on the proclamation of Nagarjuna about trendsetting films. According to observers, 'Shiva' is definitely a trendsetting film in director's point of view. Technical equipment like 'Steadicam' was introduced by RGV. A couple of films were made with protagonists talking less and showing less expressions. Night effect scenes were treated as innovation then.

However, post 'Shiva's release Nagarjuna did around 10 movies which were merely inspired by 'Shiva'. With his dismay none of those films scored success. He bounced back with mass entertainers like 'President Gari Pellam' and 'Allari Alludu'. Incidentally, this mass path was introduced by Megastar Chiranjeevi with his numerous mega hits then.

Nagarjuna further added 'Baahubali' is the trendsetting film now. Although this fantasy film was a huge hit on Indian silver screen, there is no crazy hero of Tollywood, who attempts this genre except a few heroes who wish to get royalty with those films. As such, 'Baahubali' cannot be treated as a trendsetting film.
