Sumanth, RP Disasters In OS!

Last week’s prominent new releases ‘Naruda Donoruda’ and ‘Manalo Okadu’ have been outright rejected by Overseas Telugu audience. In fact, there was quite a bit of positive buzz surrounding ‘Vicky Donor’ remake in Telugu with Sumanth, Pallavi Subhash as main leads. However, a very weak critics’ verdict and poor ratings affected the overall run.

As per a trade report, ‘Naruda Donoruda’ raked $3800 and ‘Manalo Okadu’ settled with mere $100 till the weekend. These are dismal figures for a film of any sorts because print and promotion costs are far higher. Forget about recovery of investment made in bagging these overseas rights paid to producers, its’ hard to assume that theater rents, publicity expenses are also lost.

In contrast, star studded films like ‘ADHM, Shivaay’ and ‘Kaashmora, Dharma Yogi (Kodi)’ had a face saving run.
