Of late, words like 'Remake' and 'Freemake' are frequently heard in connection with the movie making. 'Freemake' in other word means copying a scene or story of a movie. In olden days many heroes of Tollywood happened to act in many freemakes. Heroes like late NTR, Krishna and others acted in the freemakes of then Bollywood stars like Amitabh Bachchan and other stars movies. Since there was no rule of acquiring the movies rights then, neither filmmakers nor actors were blamed for copying other films.

However, the trend of remaking films by acquiring the rights of movies of other languages started from nineties. As the rights of movies are acquired officially,  Remake films cannot be termed as copy products. Moreover, the filmmakers who own the Remake rights get respect and whoever that sells the rights get handsome money based on the stamina of original versions.

The makers of freemakes or copied films get least respect by movie buffs. It is heard that some of the producers and actors in India, who do not like to work in Remakes, every now and then, prefer to lifting of scenes from Hollywood and other languages films. It is also being heard that some of the filmmakers are copying the scenes of those movies, whose rights are already sold out to other filmmakers. Doing so, their dignity maybe eroded. Whatever it is, producers and actors should prefer owning the rights of movies of their choice rather copying them.
