Chiranjeevi's 150th film landing in Puri Jagannath hands is considered as a big loss for VV Vinayak. Both of them are hotshot directors in Telugu industry. While Puri has the skill to impress masses with heroic punch dialogues by wrapping the projects in fixed time periods, Vinayak is a man of loyalty with action as core strength. From day one when discussions began on Chiranjeevi's milestone film, the only name floated on top was of Vinayak and Ramcharan is the producer with new banner on name of his mother Surekha.
Only when Bandla Ganesh offered some clues on script work progressing in the back end, we are informed on Puri made a sudden entry. However, Vinayak jumping into the Akkineni camp for directing Akhil's debut film has been the exact time when combination of Puri, Chiru was set. Having known that Chiranjeevi accepted Puri's story of 'Auto Johnny,' very next moment Vinayak lost the final hope.
Despite there is a big list of directors infront of Chiranjeevi to select one, he wisely opted for Puri Jagannath. Till date, there is no clue on what kind of story Puri really narrated to Mega Star. Of course, the need of hour for Mega Star is a full fledged commercial script with action, comedy, songs, romance, comedy and all those ingredients needed for masses. If Puri succeeded in providing it, Vinayak and others could not.
