Great Story Behind 'Oohalu Gusagusalade'

One of the all time great musicians Ghantasala provided the music for 'Bandipotu'. There are many wonderful melodies which are heard even today. Songs such as 'Oohalu Gusagusalade', 'Vagalaraanivi neeve', ' Anthaa neekosam anduke ee vesham', 'Vayasunadee' are great hits.

Incidentally, there is a great story behind the song 'Oohalu Gusagusalade' written by Aarudra. It is known that every song is composed based on different ragas such as Mohan Raga, Kalyani raga etc. But then, Ghantasala showed his peculiar mark in composing 'Oohalu' song. The 'raga' of this song was an own creation of Ghantasala but was not adopted from any other ragas. Even great musicians then, scratched their heads to identify the raga of 'Oohalu' song. Having known it was the own raga of Ghantasala, they went into a state of deep shock.
