Rajinikanth and Prabhas Expected to Attend Kolkata Film Festival 2026

The 32nd Kolkata International Film Festival (KIFF) is set to attract attention, with Rajinikanth and Prabhas expected to attend. Festival chief advisor Mithun Chakraborty shared the update after an organising meeting at Nandan on October 27. The festival is scheduled for December 16 to 23, 2026.
Anupam Kher is also expected, while organisers are in talks with Paresh Rawal and Kangana Ranaut. They are trying to invite a Hollywood star, but no international guest has been officially confirmed. The possible guest list has sparked interest among film fans, especially those hoping to see leading stars together in Kolkata.
Organisers are considering the Victoria Memorial for the opening ceremony, although the venue is not final. Plans are also being discussed to decorate key locations across Kolkata. If approved, the historic landmark could offer a different setting for the festival’s opening event and welcome guests from Indian and international cinema.
The committee also wants to promote Bengali films and develop a film market that connects filmmakers with new opportunities. Founded in 1995, KIFF showcases cinema from India and around the world. Mithun’s work with Rajinikanth in Jailer 2 and with Prabhas in Fauzi has added interest, but the final guest list is still awaited.
