Yash's "Toxic" Faces Backlash: Forest Department Files Case Against Makers for Illegal Tree Felling
Following the massive success of the KGF franchise, Kannada superstar Yash's upcoming film "Toxic" has hit a snag. The Karnataka Forest Department has filed an FIR against the film's producers for allegedly cutting down trees illegally on forest land in Bengaluru to construct sets.
The case further implicates the General Manager of Canara Bank and the General Manager of Hindustan Machine Tools (HMT), raising concerns about the involvement of these institutions in the alleged illegal activity.
Karnataka Environment Minister Eshwar Khandre accused HMT of felling hundreds of trees on forest land in Peenya for "Toxic," demanding immediate legal action against the film's team. While filming is currently underway in Mumbai, the controversy has cast a shadow over the project.
"Toxic," an intense action thriller directed by Geethu Mohandas, boasts a star-studded cast including Kiara Advani and Nayanthara. Produced by KVN Productions and Yash's Monster Mind Creations, the film was originally slated for an April 2025 release. However, the legal dispute has sparked speculation about a potential delay in the release date.
The ongoing controversy surrounding the film's production highlights the importance of environmental regulations and ethical filmmaking practices. As the investigation unfolds, the future of "Toxic" hangs in the balance, with fans eagerly awaiting updates on the film's fate.
