<p>The screenplay is even and uni dimensional for majority of the part. Director tried to come with an investigative thriller, but the so called investigation turns out to be farce. Except for the so called medical disorder, everything turned out to be routine and predictable. After the so called surprise elements, viewers can predict everything and this turned out to be the biggest backdrop.</p>
<p>While the story turned out to be routine and monotonous, even the narration and screenplay turned out to be repetitive making it a tedious watch to the viewers. The first half comes to an end with a predictable twist and when one expects a better second half, it turns out to be a disappointment.</p>
<p>With the surprise element coming out, Varalakshmi started beating around the bush and the preachy dialogues in the pre climax and climax didnot inspire any confidence. Finally, S.Saraswathi's good intentions got diluted due to Varalakshmi's over enthusiasm and the flat screenplay and direction.</p>

<p>He tried to highlight the purity in love in the older genderation compared to that of immoral values of gen z relationships but sperations and parting of ways have been prevalent in the society since longtime. The screenplay is linear and treads in a predictable fashion and in the end however failed to justify the reunison of the leadpair.</p>
<p>The film lacked the emotions and everything turns artificial as the director stayed away from the ground reality. He spent the entire first half on how the lead pair deal with the breakup and here he tried to impresses Gen Z with jargons like binge watching, stress shopping and stress eating. But he failed to live in the reality. Both the lead pair characters turned out to be artificial bereft of any emotions. Much to the disappointment of all, the so called interval bang fell flat.</p>
<p>He passed most of the time and the second half with flashbacks. Instead of increasing the interest levels, these turned out to be patient testers. Ganesh Chandra's writing turned out to be lazy and he thought it was casual and interesting. Sadly, he failed to understand the meaning and thought process of Gen Z and he confined himself to use it as jargons.</p>
<p>The music for the film is tuned by Vijay Antony. Though songs didnot make much impact, he added value to the narration with his background music. <p>Seetha Payanam story is penned by Arjun. Even earlier he directed few films but all those are action entertainers. This time to launch his daughter Aishwarya, he chose a love story. It is known that Arjun launched the film with Vishwak Sen in the lead and Pawann Kalyan graced the launch as a special guest. However, Vishwak Sen opted out of the project and Arjun roped in Sandalwood star Upendra's nephew Niranjan in the lead role. Coincidentally both Vishwak Sen's Funky and Arjun's Seetha Payanam released on the same date.</p>
<p>Seetha Payanam story is nothing new but Arjun tried to highlight the love, marriage, family bonding and other relationships that play key role. To the top of it, he also touched upon the cow protection. For all his efforts he became preachy most of the times. He starts the narration in a routine and simple manner before the road trip which increases curiosity levels. The developments later makes viewers to sit up and watch.</p>
<p>But from the moment heroine decides to thank everyone, the pace dips down considerably and the routine and preachy scenes ends up testing the patience of the viewers. Here Arjun deviated from the main topic and went on to touch topics like cow protection etc. Only during the climax, once again the family emotions connect chords with the viewers.</p>
<p>Anup Rubens came up with foot tapping and melodious tunes. The songs are situational and shot in colourful backdrop. Cinematography of G.Balamurugan beautified the scenes turning the scenes colourful. He captured the scenic locations in a visually appealing manner. Ayoob Khan's editing left a lot to be desired. There are many repetitive scenes that slowed the pace of the narration. Dialogues are good. Production values are fine.</p>

Had he reworked on the screenplay and script and included interesting elements, things would have been different. Considering all these aspects,<strong> Cinejosh goes with a 2.5 rating for Seetha Payanam.</strong></p>
